This has been one of the most enjoyable activities I have done with Seminary students. I got the idea years ago from Brother M. Ashton and have used it ever since. The first time I tried it, I wasn’t sure how willingly the students would participate. But I have always been pleasantly surprised with how willing and amazing their personal psalms of praise were. The creative writing assignment on the worksheet is pretty self explanatory. After they have all turned their papers in, read the ones that you have been given permission on. After you read those I read the other’s privately and sometimes I have asked again if it is ok to read their publicly. After they hear others, they often are then ok with people hearing theirs.

Yes, I shared this before but S&I has recently changed some of the Key Scripture Phrases, so I changed the mnemonics to reflect those changes. It is best to do a few minutes of Doctrinal Mastery each day in seminary. I think it is best to do this by spotlighting one of the Doctrinal Masteries passages for a week and a half to two weeks, by doing the following 3 things:
These are the helps for the Old Testament Doctrinal Mastery. I'll try to get out the New Testament ones in November. #seminary #doctrinalmastery #DMgames #DMactivities
Don't miss the posts below this one. Because S&I has not yet provided a bookmark for the new Doctrinal Masteries, and because giving the students a list is so helpful to get to know them, I thought I would make one until then. It is made to be printed front and back on cardstock with 4 to a page. When you look at the document, you will see you have a few options. You can print the Old Testament ones for last semester and this semester by printing pages 1-2. Or you can skip last semesters and put a graphic on the back like the Youth theme or the Books of the Old Testament. That would be printing pages 2, 3 or 2, 4. I also have it for the New Testament 12 we will have next semester, pages 5, 6. Let me know if you have any questions.
One of the hardest parts of being a Seminary Teacher is trying to figure out activities to play with your class to help them get to know the References and Key Scripture Phrases for the Doctrinal Mastery Scriptures. I usually do an activity like this for half of the lesson, once a week, or every other week. Here are a bunch that I have loved doing over the years. Games like:
