​          Because S&I has not yet provided a bookmark for the new Doctrinal Masteries, and because giving the students a list is so helpful to get to know them, I thought I would make one until then.  It is made to be printed front and back on cardstock with 4 to a page.  When you look at the document, you will see you have a few options.  You can print the Old Testament ones for last semester and this semester by printing pages 1-2.   Or you can skip last semesters and put a graphic on the back like the Youth theme or the Books of the Old Testament.  That would be printing pages 2, 3 or 2, 4.   I also have it for the New Testament 12 we will have next semester, pages 5, 6.  Let me know if you have any questions. 

​One of the hardest parts of being a Seminary Teacher is trying to figure out activities to play with your class to help them get to know the References and Key Scripture Phrases for the Doctrinal Mastery Scriptures. I usually do an activity like this for half of the lesson, once a week, or every other week. Here are a bunch that I have loved doing over the years. Games like:

• Slap-Jack
• Gotcha!
• Doctrinal Mastery Golf
• Doctrinal Mastery Pyramid
• Scripture Man
• VCR Quarterback
• Bocce Ball

And a bunch more. Eighteen all together. In the attachment you will have most everything you need to make it happen: instructions, diagrams, and things to print off.  Hope this helps. 

Here are the Doctrinal Mastery helps I've done for the whole Old Testament.  The 12 for this coming Fall semester start at slide 50.  I was going to make this for the 2022-23 school year, but they haven't decided which 24 to have for the New Testament yet.  At the beginning of the PPT is instructions for how to use them effectively. I just wanted to pass along a Jeopardy Genesis Review game I made yesterday.  
3 quick points.

1. You will probably need to change questions if I hit something you did not teach.  Feel free to modify to your needs.
2. When you are on the question, there are 3 invisible hyperlinks at the bottom of each screen. The one on the bottom left makes a bomb sound like they got it wrong and returns you to the main screen.  The middle bottom is for Time’s up, and the bottom right is clapping that they got it right and return to the main screen.  Play around with it to get comfortable with it.
3. Take a second and talk about the important things during the game.  Games with out reinforcing powerful principles are a waste of time.

Here is hoping the third time is the charm.  Very recently, S&I made some changes with Old Testament Doctrinal Mastery including adding Abraham 2:9-11.  They also took out two Doctrinal Masteries (Genesis 1:28 and Exodus 19:5-6) but I have kept the mnemonics and helps until there is further direction.  I am wondering why their is now 24 Doctrinal Masteries for the Old Testament at the moment.  But here they are.  If you have any suggestions to make them better, please let me know.  Thanks 

I made a few improvements to the Doctrinal Master Helps for the Old Testament I sent out a few weeks ago. Moses 1:39 being the biggest.   Hope this helps. 

Here are two book marks that can help your seminary students with the Old Testament and a book mark that simply has the weeks and assigned reading for Come Follow Me study.  The one helps them keep track of how many days that week they read and what portion of the CFM reading they did. This can also help you as a seminary teacher keep track of things.  I slightly greyed those months when they are not in seminary where we are.  You can adjust this on your Word document. I like to print these on cardstock. Hope it is helpful.

Here are teaching helps for Doctrinal Mastery, first semester of teaching the Old Testament.  You might find some things useful and some thing not.  I have them read the verse outload, together as a class, each day in seminary. The second slide, there is also the mnemonic to help them remember the Key words to the reference. Also discussion questions for each Doctrinal mastery to have them discuss as a class or with their partner.  Hope it helps.   Let me know of any corrections or suggestions you have. 

As you probably know, receiving graduation credit in seminary is largely based on reading 75% of the days they are in Seminary. The document here is a bookmark that helps your students keep track of their reading each day and where it would be with the assigned Come Follow Me chapters. It is made to be printed both sides on cardstock and then split down the middle. It has the last half of the D&C (this Fall semester) and the first half of the Old Testament (next semester).  You might notice that some dates are slightly greyed and some dates bolded. That is to correspond to the school district starts and stops where I live.  Feel free to modify things to where you live in MS Word.  Hope this helps.
