To have fun with Scripture Mastery activities, your class has to become familiar enough with them to play some games. Here is how I would start to get them familiar with those scriptures.
Ask your class is if they want to play some scripture Mastery games. Explain that first you have to become a little familiar with the scripture Masteries for this year. Pass out copies of the handout shown here (click on the picture to download it). Explain that you will go over the first 12 and work on those first. Once you have become familiar with 12 you can play some games with those. Have them go through their Old Testament and mark those first 12 Scripture Masteries. Then go over the 12 mnemonics on the first side of the handout together as a class. The handout explains how to learn through using mnemonics effectively. Once you have gone through the 12, have them quiz each other. Once they are semi familiar, play a game with the handout called slap jack. Have students face each other on both sides of a table. The teacher calls out some key words or a reference and then the students try to put their index finger on the correct square before the person across from them.
